Return and Refund Policy

Bi-Rite Electrical Returns & Refund Policy

This policy outlines the circumstances in which goods or services ("Goods") supplied by Bi-Rite Electrical Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our") will be accepted for return, in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and our store procedures.


1. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
  • Repair or replacement if the Goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These rights are in addition to any rights or remedies you have under any manufacturer’s warranty or other laws.


2. Clear Return Windows

We accept returns in the following time frames:

  • Fault found within 7 days of delivery or collection: You may choose a replacement, exchange, or full refund (including shipping).
  • Manufacturer’s warranty claims: As per the warranty terms, within the warranty period.
  • ACL-related claims (major or minor faults): No fixed time limit — goods must be returned within a reasonable time after the fault is detected.

3. Faults Identified Within 7 Days

If a fault is identified within 7 days of receiving the Goods, we will:

  • Provide a replacement or exchange; or
  • If you prefer a refund, arrange for collection of the faulty item and refund the full purchase price including any shipping fees originally paid.

4. Return Conditions

To be eligible for return, Goods must be:

  1. Accompanied by proof of purchase (receipt, invoice, or other transaction proof from Bi-Rite Electrical).
  2. In the same condition as supplied, unmarked, and complete with all original packaging, instruction manuals, accessories, and any bonus items received with the purchase.

Note: Goods may still be returned under the ACL if a fault is present, even if packaging is damaged or missing.


5. Exceptions to Returns

We do not accept returns for:

  • Change of mind or incorrect choice.
  • Products that have been used, installed, or are not in their original condition (unless faulty under the ACL).
  • Clearance or "as-is" items where faults were disclosed before purchase.
  • Personal care products (e.g., grooming appliances, oral care) once opened, for hygiene reasons.

6. Restocking Fees

For cancellations of special orders or non-faulty returns approved at our discretion, a restocking fee of up to 25% may apply. This covers costs such as supplier fees, transport, and handling.


7. Return Process

In-Store Purchases:

  1. Bring your item to the Bi-Rite store where purchased.
  2. Provide proof of purchase and details of the fault.
  3. We will assess the product and advise if a repair, replacement, or refund is applicable.

Online Purchases:

  1. Contact our online sales team via websales@birite.com.au within the applicable return window.
  2. We will review your request and liaise with your local Bi-Rite store.
  3. If approved, you will receive return instructions, including packaging and shipping details.

Shipping for Returns:

  • For faulty items under the ACL, return shipping or collection will be at our cost.
  • For change-of-mind or discretionary returns, you are responsible for return shipping costs.

8. Repair Information

  • Goods presented for repair may be replaced with refurbished goods of the same type.
  • Refurbished parts may be used to repair goods.
  • Repairs may result in the loss of user-generated data. Please back up your data before returning items for repair.

9. Refund Method

Refunds will be processed via the original payment method (credit card, EFT, PayPal, or cheque) within a reasonable timeframe once the return is approved.


10. Statutory Rights Not Affected

This Returns Policy does not limit or replace any rights you have under the ACL. In the event of any inconsistency between this policy and your statutory rights, your statutory rights will prevail.
