What are Vented Dryers?

Vented dryers work by blowing hot air through your clothing which evaporates the water from your clothes leaving them dry. The warm air escapes through built in air vents usuallly at the bottom of the dryer. Therefore, it's important to keep the dryer near a window or door to ensure there is somewhere for the warm air to be released. Most vented dryers also come with an extension duct pipe allowing the vented air to blow through a pipe to the exterior of your house.  Vented Dryers are typically cheaper than other dryers and tend to have lower energy efficiency star ratings. All major brands include a warranty from 2-5 years.  Make sure you have enough space for the area you will be placing the dryer in. Vented dryers are stackable and can be wall mounted clearing up floor spaces in your laundry.

What Are Heat Pump Dryers?

Heat pump dryers are the most energy efficient type of domestic dryer. They work by recycling the warm air produced by the drying cycle, then utilizes this same heat to dry your clothes. They don’t produce as much heat as other types of dryers allowing you to place it almost anywhere you want. So if you don't have enough room in your laundry, you can place it in a cupboad or hallway. They are very quiet and your clothes tend to last longer beacuse they are dried at a lower temperature. The inbuilt sensors in the dryer giveway to a wide range of technology that allow the dryer to intelligently dry your clothes leaving them feeling soft and fresh. Heat pump dryers energy efficiency ranges from 6 to 9 stars with all major brands including a warranty from 2 to 5 years. Heat pump dryers tend to be a little more expensive but is often offset by high their efficiency compared to a vented dryer.

What are Condenser Dryers

Condenser dryers are generally on the cheaper end of the price spectrum and differ from vented dryers in that they don't expel hot moist air. This means that the dryer can be be used anywhere is the house without the need for open ventilation. This makes them particulary useful in apartments where ventilation isn't always possible. Condenser dryers cannot be wall mounted and uses a small water collection tank that needs to be periodically emptied. They generally have a longer drying cycle and are considered less efficient than their heat pump counterpart.
