Bi-Rite Boonah Supporting the Local Community

Bi-Rite Home Appliances Boonah is all about their local community and giving back to the community which supports their business. Recognising the value in investing in the community and the responsibility we all bear as citizens to connect with each other and lift others up is part of Bi-Rite’s ethos, an ethos which Chantal and David from Boonah certainly share.

“Our philosophy is that the community supports us as a business, so we look after and support them,” Chantal explains. “It’s a symbiotic relationship.”

Boonah supports a huge range of local organisations and even schools, often putting out the call on their social media that if any local organisations are in need of support, Boonah is there to help.

When asked which causes are dear to her heart, Chantal has a few favourites.

“The kids always get me,” Chantal says, with Boonah sponsoring many organisations and events focused on children’s activities. “We love supporting the community, [...] helping to provide healthy, supportive environments for children.”

When it comes to supporting locals, Boonah will generally support children’s organisations, organisations which help or support the local aged communities and any of the emergency services. Recently Boonah helped the local firies out with a new big TV, recognising that the more resources the emergency services use the safer the community will be.

Here’s a sample of Boonah’s community contributions in recent years:

• Prostate Cancer Fundraiser – Boonah Bi-Rite contributed to this amazing community fundraiser organised by Boonah Carrying Company in 2020
• Bi-Rite Challenge is an annual event for the local Boonah Golf Club. The Challenge runs over 12 weeks and Boonah Bi-Rite provides the prize money for the winners.
• Fassifern Horse and Pony Club – 2019 and 2020 and 2021 – Boonah Bi-Rite supports the Gymkhana events either with trophies or raffle prizes.
• Boonah Soccer Club – Under 6 team – Boonah Bi-Rite is supplying team jerseys for the 2021 season
• Fassifern Netball Association – Boonah Bi-Rite has provided sponsorship support for the purchase of a new drink cabinet for the club house – March 2021
• Boonah Rotary Club – Boonah Bi-Rite is providing $200 in prizes for the 75th Anniversary celebration – March 2021

This doesn’t include smaller contributions like providing food for a local school breakfast program or occasional bingo door prizes for the local aged care community.

It’s fantastic to see such community spirit in the Bi-Rite group, one of our core values is community spirit and being good citizens in the local communities in which we all live. However for Boonah, it’s not about recognition, it’s about supporting the community which supports their business. Plus, as David and Chantal say, it’s just the right thing to do.
