As a Mum with three growing kids and a husband with a huge appetite (and I don’t think he’s through with growing either if that belly’s anything to go by!) I need a really spacious fridge and the ESE6977SC definitely hits the mark. It’s pretty gorgeous to look at too, and the kids absolutely love chilled water dispensers. A friend was round with her little four-year old the other day and the two youngest were back and forth, helping themselves to cupfuls for hours! Who’d have thought it would provide that much entertainment?! Thank goodness mine is well potty trained by now….A door alarm is useful too. The ESE6977SC is fantastic if you entertain a lot; it’s a huge 700L which gives you loads of space for food dishes prepared in advance. I recently hosted my mother-in-law’s sixtieth and we had over eighty guests and I really made use of the room it has for storing all those party nibbles to stop me from stressing out too much! For its size the ESE6977SC doesn’t eat up too much electricity compared to my old one and I like the fact it uses an environmentally friendly refrigerant. The ice cube dispenser means that you always have something to cool your drink to relax with at the end of a long day and I’d say I’m just about ready for one of those drinks right now to wind down ready for the weekend..

Hello everyone. I’m Jenny.

No doubt many of you will have read my husband’s brief introduction. Not to mention his obnoxious remarks about domestic chores.

Most men aren’t as lazy or indeed as sexist as Evan. I wish he could be like his friends who know how to use a washing machine. It isn’t as if they’re terribly complicated things to use.

The average Aussie bloke these days washes his own clothes. I have friends who live in Mackay in central Queensland. Their husbands work out on the mines, and their work clothes often are washed separately to the rest of the family’s. It isn’t healthy washing all that coal dust and muck in the same load as school uniforms.

For that kind of repeated washing of heavy loads, I’d recommend the good old Aussie Simpson SWT704. This model is so new that lazy Evan hasn’t managed to upload its details up on the Bi-Rite website yet. So let me tell you a bit about it.

The SWT704 is a top load machine with a large 7.5 kg capacity. For such a big machine, it goes light on both energy and water. It’s 3-star WELS rated. For every 365 cold washes, it uses only 85 kWh of power. That’s much more energy efficient than other machines of similar capacity.

Top end loaders are also easy on the back. I’m thinking of buying one for my mum. She has fairly severe arthritis in her knees, and I didn’t feel comfortable with her bending or crouching down to load and unload her washing. Though I doubt she’d need something as big as the Simpson SWT704.

Hey everyone,

Firstly I’d like to an introduction kind of blog since this is my first here. My name is Abdul, I am 21 years old and I work at Bi-Rite full time, previously I would just work whenever I could whether it was School or University holidays. Recently I’ve been spending a lot of time figuring out ways to improve our new website which can get very stressful and frustrating at times.

Bi-Rite has grown a fair amount since it first started and now we have around 120 stores across Australia with our next venture being the online business. Bi-Rite is fairly family orientated due to the nature of the company’s core being family.

My main goal from these blogs is not to sell you products, instead I plan to do a few different things, one of the main topics that I will be focusing on is educating people on the technology and choices people have when buying products. I will be that guy who you can ask “Hey what’s the difference between HD and FULL HD?” or “What is the reason that makes this better than that?”. I’ll be giving you non biased advice on a range of technology in a simple to understand format, and this way you can make a better informed decision on what you want and need, not what the others want you to buy so that they can make more money.

This blog is only just starting up and it’s my first time doing this kind of thing for a company so please if you have any suggestions on what you’d liked to see on these blogs or even the website let me know!

I was also planning on writing about what my experiences at Bi-Rite have been like as an employee and how being a family member effects things, what I would like to see come out of our website and whatever else I can think of, but that will probably come in the future while I get a better grasp of things here!

In my next few blogs I plan to do a multi-part blog which will go through the details of TV technology and how bigger isn’t always better for quality.

See you next time!

A customer just reviewed the EWF1083 Electrolux front load washer

I received the EWF1083 front loader and I must say the results so far are great. This is my first time using a front load washing machine but I am really happy – the washes are brillant. Easy of use is good and the buttons are clear – which helps for when I ask my hubby to put it on! There are all these different options for washing but apart from the heavy cycle, I am not sure I will ever use them – the standard wash is pretty good if not excellent. The heavy soil cycle does the same if not a better job than the soaking cycle from my old Simpson top loader.

It’s pretty quiet too. At times I have to check that it is actually on. All up, I would say this machine is fantastic. Money well spent and I highly recommend it.

I have been asked many a time about whether installing separate split systems is better than ducted system or vice versa. My answer is always the same – splits are better. Why?

With split systems, you have essentially more flexibilty. Yes you do have the indoor units taking up space on your wall, but in return you get the ability to switch on only one room on when you need it, without having to resort to the need of having a “common zone” as in ducted systems. nb. A common zone is a zone which must remain on at all times when a ducted system is switched on, so even though you may only want to sleep in your air conditioned master bedroom, you will need to switch on the common zone as well.

The common zone is usually a large, central zone in the house where the return air duct can be placed.

Another advantage of split systems is one not usually mentioned and that is air filtering. When you have five split systems throughout a house, you also essentially have five air filters as well, constantly moving air and refining it by removing pollen and other allergens. Different split systems have different levels of filtration so that is a consideration that should be considered as well.

A ducted system has one air filter only, and often is a crude physical device. Many do not have the advanced plasma filtration systems of modern day splits.

The choice is clear, for me anyway. At the end of the day, you need to get what is best for your needs.

Consumers were skeptical about the what the netbook didn’t have. They weren’t powerful and didn’t come with a lot of hard drive storage.

But as consumers lifestyles have changed dramatically over the last couple of years the netbooks many advantages have sent it sales raising steadily.

The main advantage to netbooks are their lightweight and mobility. You can throw a compact netbook in you backpack and not even notice you are carrying around your computer with you.

This new front load washer from LG comes with a 7.5kg direct drive that runs so quiet you will have to check that it is switched on.

It has some great water saving features such as the Intelligent Wash System that detects the type and size of the wash load and uses the optimal amount and temperature of water to get a great result.

A great new innovation is the “Quick 30”. It protects your everyday favorites such as t-shirts that can become worn and out of shape by frequent washing in a normal cycle. It allows you to wash slightly soiled clothes in a quick and easy cycle.

It comes with a decent array of programmable setting and cycles and is backup by a 10 year manufacturer warranty on the direct drive system.

The machine looks great and for the price, out performs many higher priced European models.
